With the beautiful Fall weather in the area, our Rockets teams were able to kick-off their Fall season this past weekend and what a weekend of celebrations it was!
The 12u Rockets opened their Fall Season with two wins vs CT Pride. Hannah S. led things off in the circle for the Rockets and pitched a perfect game facing 11 batters and sitting down 8. Hannah had plenty of run support from her team to seal the 10-0 victory. Kathryn O. had two hits and Aria Q. ripped a double to plate the last two runs.
In Game 2, the 12u Rockets offense was an RBI machine racking up another 10 runs. Taylor K. had 4 RBI, Rylie D. had 2, and Callie V scored 4 runs in the second victory of the day. Jules B. led her team going 2 for 4 on the day.
Our 14u Blue team traveled to Bethel for two games against the Blast. While they didn't pull off a win, they played two very exciting and competitive games. The bats were ablaze with Marissa D, Makenzie M, and Brianna J each collecting extra base hits on Saturday in two very high scoring games.
14u Red took on Velocity on Sunday. Sofia V went 4 for 4 with 3 hits including a stand-up double. 14u Red will take next weekend off to prepare for the Hatter Fest Tournament in Danbury on September 30th.
16u Futures took two wins over the Pomperaug Panthers on Sunday. The pitching staff of, Lyla K and Katie M, combined for 24Ks over two games. The bats were hot as well in Southbury with Kayla L just one HR away from the cycle collecting a single, a double, and a triple and knocking in 4 runs. Val O was 4 for 5 at the plate with 4 singles and 2 RBI.
16u Morris kicked off their Fall season with some tournament ball in Beacon, NY. Highlights included Lily M with lock-down defense at short-stop, and offensive dominance from Haylie M with 3 doubles on the weekend. Kelsey B executed the perfect bunt to plate the walk-off run in Game 3 of Pool Play giving 16u Morris their first win of the season.
16u Select was off this weekend, but will travel to Southbury to take on Pomperaug next Sunday the 24th.
